As a result of a new government requirement announced by the DEA*, beginning October 6, 2014, prescriptions for hydrocodone combination drugs will be subject to the following:
– Any remaining refills on existing hydrocodone-combinations prescriptions will no longer be valid.
– You will need to obtain a new prescription every fill of the hydrocodone-combination product.
– Prescriptions for these drugs will no longer be accepted via fax, phone or by e-scribe.
* The Drug Enforcement Agency’s announced on August 22, 2014 that hydrocodone combination products will be moved from Schedule III to Schedule II.
